CEO Letter

To Our Community: I thank you for your continued encouragement and support. You help make it
possible for our team to deliver the best care for a stronger Macon and region. I
It is so difficult to believe another year has come and gone, especially a year as am humbled and grateful to lead this wonderful organization.
tremendous as 2016 was for Navicent Health and the communities we serve. As
we look back over the past fiscal year, it is a pleasure to report to you all that we With warmest regards,
have been able to accomplish together.
                                                                                       Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, FACHE
Delivering the best care and introducing new technologies has been at the President & CEO
forefront of this past year. Throughout this time of rapid growth and expansion, Navicent Health
we have continued to offer high quality care with compassion and kindness
to each and every resident of the communities we serve. After all, the most
important part of Navicent Health is the people we serve. We pride ourselves
on keeping each patient at the center of all we do as we navigate each individual
toward greater health and wellness.

Beyond healthcare, Navicent Health has affected positive change throughout
the communities we serve and the state as a whole. In a report released earlier
this year by the Georgia Hospital Association, it was determined that Navicent
Health hospitals generated more than $1.5 billion in revenue for the local and
state economy in 2013, the most recent date for the study, while providing
almost $70 million in uncompensated care and sustaining approximately 12,000
full-time jobs throughout central Georgia and the rest of the state. Making
Macon and the region we serve stronger is incredibly important to us.

Navicent Health representatives also worked with Georgia’s General Assembly
to ensure the passage of House Bill 509 into law. The bill, which passed in a
140-22 vote and was signed into law by Gov. Nathan Deal on April 26, 2016,
will lead to the creation of the Georgia Palliative Care and Quality of Life
Advisory Council, a state board under the Department of Community Health.
We have worked diligently throughout the year to expand our service offerings
in traditional and not-so-traditional manners. Each strategic move has been
grounded in our commitment to provide patients with access to affordable,
quality care delivered by a team with heart close to home.

We have continued to coordinate care among Navicent Health entities and
among our partners, working seamlessly together to navigate patients toward
greater health and wellness. We are in the process of introducing OrCAREstra,
Navicent Health – a new service that will allow us to effectively follow up with
patients after discharge and coordinate additional healthcare services to meet
their needs. With a successful 2016 drawn to a close, we look forward to the
future with great expectation.

Our continued success as well as our growth and expansion would not be
possible without the support of our community. As we work toward becoming
the destination healthcare provider of choice in our region and even our nation,
our progress would not be possible without your support. Together, we will
continue to set the standard for excellence in healthcare.
